Mentors discussed the various ways colleges and universities share their financial aid packages to accepted students. From grants to Stanford loans, mentees learned how to distinguish aid that does and does not have to be paid back.
We held our 3rd session at the Business Council for International Understanding (Times Square Area). HENRY GORIS, Vice President and Store Manager III at TD BANk (Maspeth, Queens), held an informative conversation with the mentees about financial literacy. From credit scores, credit cards, loans, and savings, mentees were advised on how to best prepare for fInancial success in college and beyond.
We then went to Dave and Busters for some group games and fun before the Christmas holiday.
For Session 2, we discussed college admissions, time management, general stresses, and vision. Thank you to Carlos Vega, Ph.D., Associate Director of Admission for Multicultural Enrollment & Athletic Liaison at Saint Michael's College in Burlington, Vermont.
