Cohort 2 | Introductions and Time Management

Following up on a fantastic first year of programming, The Foresight Project was fortunate enough to continue its partnership with the REACH program. On September 12, we kicked things off with our second cohort! We are very lucky to be working with a terrific group of ten motivated students from various backgrounds. Our students are currently seniors at Fordham Preparatory School, Regis High School, and Xavier High School.

In our first session we started out with some reflection and meditation before jumping into ice breakers. In break-out groups, we then discussed time management, which will help the Mentees balance their busy schedules before and during college.

Cohort 1 | Career Panel - Business

On Saturday May 16th, we were joined by Roger Knight, Managing Director at Lincoln International. Roger is also an alumnus of Regis High School and currently serves on Regis' Board of Trustees. It was a privilege to close our career panel series with Roger, as he discussed his journey from Regis to his career advising enterprise software companies on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. One highlight of the conversation was learning about Roger's entrepreneurial activities as a student at Cornell University. Roger also touched on the value of mentorship as he began his career.

Cohort 1 | College Transition Workshop

On Saturday May 10th, the Mentors and Mentees convened on Zoom to discuss topics and questions of concern to the students as they begin preparing for their transitions to college life and academics. We are proud of the mentees as most of them have decided on their colleges of choice for the coming year. In the midst of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we held an engaging talk with Mentors reflecting on how they handled experiences including dorm life, choosing courses, developing relationships with professors and career advisors, and managing the overstimulation of the first semester. The Mentees had smart, thoughtful questions and are eager to make the most of their college experiences.
